Just bought an E93 M3, issues I should expect?
Hey guys, this is my first post.
So I recently bought a 2008 E93 M3 at 42,000 miles. I'm trying to make it last as long as it can. The next time I change the oil I'll get an oil analysis done for the rod bearings. Is there any other things i should expect to replace soon? Thanks |

Key to happy BMW ownership: Expect to replace everything and be surprised when you don't have to replace anything*
* - for verts you have to sortof expect something to go wrong with the top mechanism too, which is a great reason to leave it down all the time

9 years later with 1 minor top issue for me (replaced frayed cables before they broke for 16 bucks and 30 mins time) because I follow this maint. schedule. Have fun and welcome to the club. Now go get a supercharger and you will really have a blast.

Welcome Emma, oh and you to everythingsbettertopless. 75,000 miles on my E93 and the only things on my car that are not original are the brakes, tires, oil, wipers, spark plugs, filters, diff oil and the person er people farting on the driver and passenger seats. I hope for a long life for Emma also.

I've had two E93 M3's, it will serve you well to go to Bimmerfest > 3 Series >E90/E91/E92/E93 (2006 - 2013) > Sticky: Keeping Your 3 Series Origami Top in Tip Top Shape.

///M Power-Belgium you have more appreciates than you do posts. And you have an amazing amount of both. Your comment above is a classic. You are able to hit the spectrum from funny to knowledgeable. Your posts are must read for noobs, Generals and everyone in between. I think I'm going to start a thread on/about you. Kind of like a tribute as it is well deserved. Members can comment and tell stories about how you made them laugh and or helped them with their cars. I imagine the thread would last a very long time. From myself and the rest of us at Bimmerpost, we thank you for your service sir. Boof |

Congrats on the E93. I love mine. Bought 7 months ago at 32k miles, now at about 39k.
If the car checked out ok there aren't too many major things to worry about. Shortly after taking ownership (2-3 weeks) I did the RBs, added test pipes, the ACM exhaust mod, and Gintani Tune. Also added Lux AEs, matching reflectors and grills. Totally transformed the car. Enjoy the top down experience. |
