Rear-View Camera Standard Equipment?

Does anyone know what model year did the M3 have the rear-view camera as standard equipment? On BMW's website the 2018 it appears to be standard but based on reading a number of threads, I assume this wasn't the case prior? Shocking considering a $60K+ car doesn't have a rear camera standard but a smart marketing move I guess.

Prior to 2018 models, in order to have the rear-view camera your car had to have the Executive Package or something?

Btw, I didn't realize M cars don't come with a spare tire or donut. I understand the weight savings and a donut probably doesn't fit over the brake calipers. How many of you have been stranded waiting for road side assistance?

The rear view camera is brand new standard for MY18, previously you had to get the executive package.

Exactly right, and the M Mobility kit and no spare have been on BMWs without runflats for a while now.

Don't worry Park Distance Control is still optional so you can still brag about checking that box! Icon headlights may or may not be standard on early '18s. Oh and steel driveshafts will be standard "gradually" starting in November. What a time to be alive and ordering a F80!

If someone opted for the "Active Blind Spot" option but not the "Park Distance Control", does anyone know where the Blind Spot sensors are located? They're not the same body colored sensors on the bumpers are they?

No. Blind spot detectors are on the side view mirrors. Completely different than the body colored sensors on the bumpers.
