Dinan sucks

i bought a swaybar kit from them thru Amazon. after removing my old bar only to find they included the wrong parts inside the kit. i had to pay the shop for a non install to put my car back together. now I've been trying to get ahold of dinan all week and finally today they respond. i provided them pics and receipts but they refuse to help. i finally had to send the entire kit back to Amazon. boy they really suck. i really have second thoughts about supporting this company in the future.

Someone has to know a Dinan rep through here. Or why not look for one in dealer parts and PM them. They will help a Bimmerpost brother I am sure.

What exactly was missing?

I can somewhat understand if you didn't buy from an authorized dealer...

I think Amazon is a dinan dealer though. If you are familiar with their endlinks, one end threads on clockwise and the opposite end threads on counter clock wise. They gave me two that screws on counter clockwise. All I needed is the correct one that screws on clockwise but they wouldn't send me the part even though it originated from them. The only way to correct the issue is to have Amazon send me an ENTIRE kit and I have to send back the whole thing. Such a waste of $$$ shipping when it could be solved so easily. Like I said Dinan, you guys suck! I was contemplating getting their Suspension kit, but after going through this, I think I'll stick with Bilstein coilovers. If they can't even get something as simple as this correct, god knows what will be missing if I bought their suspension setup.

So all four end links in the kit have counter clockwise threading?

They gave me 3 counterclockwise and 1 clockwise. I don't know any other manufacturer that makes their reseller deal with missing parts issues. In the end they will still get it back and they will still need to replace the unit. All they did is show that they don't care about the end user.

Dinan prices from my experience are locked down pretty good - the dealer prices are the exact same as those on dinancars.com. So what are the prices you're paying on Amazon - are they better? And are you actually buying from a Dinan authorized dealer?

Sorry for the trouble, but I've never had any trouble with them. But I don't buy their stuff on Amazon either.

I agree with this. I also have never had any problems with them.
BTW, dinan sway bar with their end links is great.
Made a noticeable difference on the track for me.

If it's sold and shipped by Amazon, you shouldn't need to pay for return shipping if there's something wrong with the item.

I can't comment on this transaction specifically but I figured out very early in the game that Dinan was a name that came with lots of cost and that there were other products that could give better results at lower costs. To each their own because I know there are some who feel having that badge/name on/in your car is worth the extra $$$ one has to spend...

This is why if i had the choice, I'd rather buy from a big company rather than a small company.
I was trying to avoid shipping a whole kit over again. If you bought a refrigerator and it was missing an ice tray you wouldn't want them to ship you another refrigerator right? Well Amazon overnight me a whole new kit, no questions asked. I just find the whole thing silly when dinan should have taken care of it. why didn't i buy from dinan directly? because they never pick up their phone, they have no business sense.

why should they take care of it , if you purchased through amazon? your problem is 100% with amazon. if you bought an xbox 1 through amazon and it didn't work, is your problem with microsoft?

I have had nothing but good experiences with Dinan. I have been using their products for nearly 20 years. As a quick test, I placed a call to Dinan Tech Support and got through immediately. Have you made them aware of your problem? I'd give them another chance.

99.9% of the time, the manufacturer will absolutely fix any issues so to answer your question. Of course Microsoft will take care of the unit. In fact, most everything you buy nowadays has a big tag saying if there is any issues with this product, please do not return it to the store and call this ph #.

If I'm buying Dinan stuff (and I have), I'm getting it from them directly, or my local authorized dealer.

The problem you have is not with Dinan, but Amazon. Dinan is only going to take care of you if you purchased from them or a authorized dealer. So here's the question.....if the price was the same why didn't you purchase it from Dinan? This thread wouldn't exist if you had. I never and I mean never had a problem with Dinan. And many will tell you I was damn near the Dinan authority around here. They took care of me without question. Hell they even overnighted some parts to the race track for me during a track weekend for free.......Phil

Would still be curious if you contacted one of our brothers from Dinan right here on the forum if there would have been something they could have done. Just for sh*ts and giggles. But I'm sure you are over it now anyway. Your pissed and first impressions are what they are. Hopefully it will go smoother from here out.

I tried originally buying directly but they never answer their phones so i gave up and like someone said, free 2 day shipping from amazon! I thought dinan drop ships for them anyway so why did it matter. I was wrong.
