Thoughts on speedcloth interior
Looking at 13 lemans e92 right now, it's zcp, premium, cf roof but has powered speedcloth. Ive personally never seen the cloth in person, and car is too far to go look. for those that have it or like it does it look as nice as all leather? How's the feel of the overall interior. Thanks again for the inputs!

I specced my 2013 ZCP E92 with speed cloth. I find it way better than leather for any kind of sporty driving and it also prevents sweat from accumulating in your backside.
It also holds up really well. When I bought a 2011 E90 I made sure it was speed cloth as well! So now I have two! There's a reason you can spec cloth on the M3 but not on any other BMW sold in the US! |

Love it and wouldn't have it any other way! Took me a long time to find my E90 with the spec I have (Speed Cloth being one of those requirements). I think it's a very high quality material and appealing to look at with the leather bolsters. I'd say that your spec would be a pretty sought after one, too.

I have speed cloth as well. I was excited when I came across the option as I felt it was unique, but skeptical if I would like the option. Surprisingly I am very pleased with the ownership of speed cloth. Warm on cool mornings, but even better is you don’t sweat in the seat and very comfortable on long trips. Very good at holding you in place and vacuums easily. Does not loook cheap since it is paired with leather bolsters and leather ///m headrests. The door panel inserts are cloth also. When I was buying the car, I called my buddy who runs a large bmw dealership and when he pulled the manifest of the car his first comment was “woah, speed cloth option.... way cool!”

It's called "speed" cloth for a reason. I don't have it but I would in a second.

the leather is nice, but i can honestly say i wouldn't mind cloth seats. if the rest of the car is checking all the boxes for you, i'd say go for it. the bolsters and stuff are still leather. i'm sure you can dig up a ton of pics in a google search.

My cars are leather, but Speed Cloth is fantastic, especially if you'll be tracking or are in a cold climate. The cloth mitigates uncomfortable surfaces in temperature extremes. In triple digit track days you won't sweat through everything, and in freezing temps your skin isn't shocked by sitting down onto a block of icy leather. It's also *slightly* lighter.
The only downside might be that it can be stained, whereas leather doesn't. ScotchGuard it and be happy. |

I had to use my friend Google to see what Speed Cloth looks like. I've never seen a M car with a Speed Cloth interior "in real life". Not to my taste, but it looks like it can tastefully be done.
I sorta liked this one. I would be careful to pick a color that does not show stains. |

I love the speed cloth in my 11e90. I think it gives the interior a more purposeful look. I also agree it’s cooler in the summer. I had several e39s and my back would get sweaty in the summer.

My wife didn't like the speedcloth when I bought the car in 2013 as she couldn't believe an expensive car like this was not full leather. However, as others have stated this is a good material. More friction holds you well, fewer temperature extremes, easy to clean and I actually think the contrast between the cloth, leather bolsters and M headrest looks very cool. I've had positive comments from service advisors and mechanics when they see my car with the seats spec'd as they are. Seems to be a more rare and practical option.

Speed cloth FTW
Feels nicer, easier to maintain, and still looks great. I've had full leather before, but theres nothing worse than finishing a sweaty gym session, then slipping around on leather seats.
