Anyone know what happened to this M3?

At 1:58 you can see that nice looking green E90 M3 blow his engine and then fire starts to build up in his exhaust. What happened?

You can hear him pinning RPMs just prior to incident. Strange though because it looks like thy're slowing down but engine is screaming.

Yeah , I heard his bearings flew out the exhaust tips !

That was what they thought initially...rod bearings...but a quick check of Blackstone revealed it to be throttle actuators...
