Help with winter set up
I know I am a little late to the game with purchasing my winter wheel set up but, I am having trouble with deciding on what set up to purchase. My car currently is lowered on H&R race springs and I am looking to get 18" wheels for the winter. I would love to do a squared set up with either VMR wheels or maybe APEX, but in terms of width of wheels / tire sizes, I am a little confused. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you |

There is a set I'm looking into now that has an offset of 25 on both wheels and are staggered. 8" fronts/9" rears. With my car being lowered would these fit?

Hey William - I have a set of 18 inch Apex Arc-8's that have just been re powder coated on Blizzak's. The Blizzaks were driven for one season. They are 9inch front Et42, 10 inch rear ET25. I believe the tires are 245 / 275, I don't have any pictures to hand yet. I'm not sure if the fronts would fit your lowered suspension at the front, but I'd probably run them with a 12 or 15 spacer.
I'm selling them as I'm switching my summer 220m rims to winters and buying 359's for summer. I'm based in NY, the tires are currently at ACM in NJ. Selling for $800 if your interested. I haven't advertised them yet but will do shortly. |

I? would be interested but not sure on the fitment. If anyone can chime in on either set up that would be great. Also with the 275 rears....I? feel like that's a pretty wide winter tire. You have any trouble in the snow with that?

I'm running a performance winter, since we don't see much snow (maybe 2 weeks a year). Though another member here ran up a pretty snowy pass with them in the area without much trouble. I'm running a Pilot Alpine PA4. They grip pretty well in the dry and wet, so much so that it made me realize I need to replace my summers.
Regards to tire and wheel setup, I have 18x8.5 et22 Apex PS-7s. Running 245/40/18 square. Fit is about perfect. |

Guy who had them before me said they were great in snow. Plenty of Porsches run wider winter tires and have no problem in snow conditions. I was going to run them myself, but I want a set of ZCP's for summer so I'm going to run my 220M's for winter.
