Finally Picked Up My New (To Me) M3!!!!!!

So after a few year hiatus between E9X M3's, I am finally back in one. Just picked it up yesterday and it felt "just right" immediately. It is a 2012 Frozen Silver anniversary edition, so it comes fully loaded from the factory (including ZCP and it has the MPE exhaust), clean history (bought it from one of my best friends) and only 13k miles. Super clean inside and out, only downside is my buddy has the front license plate mount on with 4 ugly small holes, so I will keep the holder on just to keep it looking clean.

I think this one is a keeper, I can't stop staring at it

Thanks! Did my first wash last night and was a little nervous...researched frozen paint a lot and I basically took away that it is just like regular paint in terms of durability, but it just requires special cleaning supplies.

It was actually a breeze!!

When you "get back in" you "go all out". Top of the food chain for sure. Congrats!

I owned an F80 M3 last year so this one was obviously much cheaper...that's how I justified paying a bit more

Seems like quite a few f8x guys come back to the e9x, care to share thoughts between the two?

Sure, here are a few key differences from my perspective:
- The F80 was a far superior car on paper in every way...acceleration, handling, tech, fuel efficiency, low down torque made driveability better, way easier to tune and get monster gains (turbo)
- BUT, and this is a big BUT...the car just felt so clinical to me and I just never connected with it...the fact that it sounded like a souped up lawnmower didn't help matters
- Back in the E92, I'm giving up quite a bit vs the F80 but none of that matters because I am just so much more connected to it...more raw, the chills I get with this engine, the sounds, and I just think it still looks so great

Thanks for the 2c, I just got my M3 a month or so ago however I'm already thinking ahead a few years about what I'd want to upgrade to down the line and f8x is on the short list. While I love the looks of the F8x M cars, I'm afraid of much of what you mentioned here. It seems to be the common theme of the newer M cars feeling disconnected which makes me sad. As you mentioned, the exhaust note doesn't do it any favors.

Looks amazing. Frozen silver is really the way to go, not too flashy and shows off the body lines amazingly well. Not to mention the beautiful contrast between the roof and wheels.

Wow that thing is gorgeous. Love that color. Congrats man. I just joined the V8 club as well coming out of my E46 and couldnt be happier. I kept both of course because the E46 is just timeless and one of the best feeling cars out there.

When I read this I honestly felt as if I had written it haha. I owned an f82 M4 for 2 years and sold it awhile back. I missed having an ///M car but knew I would never own an f82 again. So I found a 2011 ZCP 6mt 2 weeks ago. I couldn't be happier.
