Are these fluids correct?
Dealer gave me these as diff and tranny fluids for 2010 e92 m3 manual. Not much information on these fluids online.
Are these the correct fluids? Synthetik MSP/A 75W-140 for the diff View post on imgur.com and MTF-LT-3 for the manual transmission View post on imgur.com |

The 75W-140 gear oil you have is correct for your differential.
The MTF-LT-3 fluid you have for your manual transmission is not such a clear choice. Per this convincing discussion thread here the new replacement for the previously required, but no longer produced, MTF-LT-2 fluid is the MTF-LT-5 fluid and not the MTF-LT-3 your dealer sold you. A similar discussion thread here with an actual BMW Canada service bulletin for the 1 series M manual transmission that came from the factory with MTF-LT-2 says MTF-LT-5 is now the proper fluid to use in that manual transmission. However, RealOEM has updated the required fluid for the manual e9X M3 transmission from MTF-LT-2 to MTF-LT-3 as seen here. And some M3Post members have reported their dealers told them to use MTF-LT-3 as seen in this thread. To muddy the waters even more, the only online BMW TIS I know of still lists the no longer produced MTF-LT-2 fluid for the M cars as seen here (next to letter "G"). That TIS has a last updated date at the bottom of the page of 8/2016. Maybe someone with access to a more up to date TIS can post a screen shot if there are any new updates?

They told me it doesn't exist anymore, and LT-3 replaced LT-2. Oh well, it's changed now and in the car. If the tranny blows up we'll know why |
