what's the difference between this and the newer gen model?

edit: looks like gen 2 comes with the ethanol analyzer, real time bluetooth connectivity, and improved fittings.

i run the kit with my ess 625. i did 514whp on 91 octane and it felt "ok". on e50 it's beastly, i'd estimate an easy 550whp and will dyno again soon to be sure. night and day difference.

Is this commander necessary to run E85 on a ESS kit?
I have a ESS VT1-535 currently in the 530whp range and E85 has been on my mind

wow, how are you in the 530whp range with the 535 kit? upgraded (smaller) pulley? if so, what size?

it's safe to run 2-3 gallons e85 without the commander safely and i gained about 22whp on top of 91 octane. with the commander i run 8-9 gallons e85 but haven't dyno'd the gains yet.
