I've never gotten so many stares and thumbs up ...
The M is one head turner. People will slow and roll their windows down just to look over and give a thumbs up. It happens almost every time I'm on the road. It's mostly American cars like Mustangs and SRT whatevers.
Anyone else?

Not finding that at all. I think the combination of Space Grey along with looking a bit like a regular 3er make the car a bit of a sleeper. Only folks in nice BMWs or Porsches tend to notice. It is surprising to me but is also just fine. The car is for ME.

Haha, there was a Space Gray coupe on 19's parked downtown in front of a blue-green 1994 Miata. Someone came over to check out the Miata (it had its top down) and then walked away.
Then some kids on the other side of the road stared at a TiAg 335i going down the street, completely missing the M3. LOL. My buddy and I just laughed. |

That's odd. I have a space gray also, but I'm in norcal. Maybe in socal it's not such a big deal.

I get people pulling up to me and giving me thumbs up all the time. And other bmw owners honking the horn or talking to me about the car. It is pretty rare right now to see these around so it makes sense...i enjoy being one of the first around here to own this car but the pure exhilaration from driving it is all i care about. It's an amazing all around car and i didn't buy it for the stares but it's cool to see other people respect it

Do you guys get a lot of people wanting to race? I would think everyone would want a piece of that M, trying to prove their ride against the new kid on the block. Probably some modded 335i drivers that are licking their chops too.

I get a lot of looks from people in older M3s and from other M# car drivers. A lot of people don't seem to notice it though. Chicks seem to dig it though. Get some funny reactions when they find out I drive a brand new BMW

The other day I was at a light waiting to take a left turn and in the lane next to me I hear a loud SCREECH. I look over and this guy in his E36 m3 had slammed on the brakes rolls down his window and yells "that car is f*cking beautiful" lol. there were about 10 people behind him who had to slam on the brakes as well and were honking like crazy. He then peels out and gives everyone behind him the finger...I proceeded to LOL.

I went to pick up my daughter after Lacrosse at the high school. Many of her teammates were outside when I pulled up. They were all checking out the car while I waited for her at the curb. I don't think teenage girls normally notice cars, but it was quite obvious they were all looking at the car. (or was it me they were checking out???....jailbait....nevermind)
