2018 F15 Coding Questions & Recommendations

Just took delivery on a 2018 F15 M Sport on Saturday. This is my first BMW so I'm a bit new to coding. I see that some owners are using Carly or Bimmercode so I'd like to hear what are your likes/dislikes with each program.

I'd like to add the following features

- One touch tailgate open/close
- Close tailgate with key fob
- Mirrors fold/unlock with key fob & touching door handle
- Remove disclaimer
- Video in motion
- Turn signals in HUD (I have digital cluster) possible?
- Heater/ventilated seats memory
- M start up animation

Also I'm wondering if it possible to add infotainment to HUD and driver seat sliding back when exiting? Gotten use to this option if my previous cars.

If there are other recommended features not listed please feel free to educate me.

Thanks!

I have no experience with Carly but used Bimmercode to code everything you want to code, with the exception of infotainment to HUD(Already have this) and Easy Exit.

Coding easy exit seems to be hit or miss and will require going in to Expert Mode in bimmercode app.

Thanks for for the input!

With Bimmercode in order to have the mirrors fold you have to hold the lock button correct? Or can I just press lock once and they'll fold?

You said you already had infotainment on HUD feature. Is that an option I can enable in the idrive?

Could you explain to me what easy exit it?

I have it set to fold immediately when pressing the lock button on the fob. You can adjust the delay in bimmercode.

For infotainment, my HUD displays navigation, speed, speed limits, music (mode button for inputs and presets), caller ID stock. I think there are other things that will display in the HUD depending on the features being used but I just haven't played with everything quite yet. I have coded turn signals on HUD and plan to code lane departure warning in HUD soon.

Easy exit is where the steering wheel retracts and seat moves back to make getting in/out of the car easier. I've been looking in to coding this but haven't done anything yet. My previous car, Grand Cherokee Overland had this out of the box and I really liked it. I do wish BMW had this is a standard feature.

I coded everything on your list plus the following:

Handle lights on reverse - I think this looks pretty cool from the outside, even though I never see if from the outside lol

AC settings memory

I had easy/exit already turned on from the factory.

Did you use Carly or Bimmercode? I'm trying to figure out which platform to order.

I definitely want to add the lights while reversing I think it's a pretty cool feature.

How did you have have the easy exit turned off from factory? I couldn't find that option in my idrive.

I used E-sys and followed the instructions on this thread: http://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1033991

iCarly and Bimmercode is more user friendly though

I don't recall the easy exit being adjustable via iDrive, but I never had to search for it because it was already on.

Does your seat actually move back? There is an option to you can turn on that will retract the steering wheel but it does not move the seat back.

All those are possible, and more, except HUD turn signals.

I saw your post in the other thread about VIM is only compatible with Bimmercode. Kind of bummed now lol

As of today 1-25-18 Carly is only compatible with 4/6 modules in the 2018 F15. Can't code anything in idrive.

Just ordered a charge adapter to try out Bimmercode. I'll be returning the Carly adapter if I end up liking Bimmercode better.

I set it to fold mirror immediately with door lock either with fob or comfort access. Originally I set it with few seconds delay like how I setup my previous F30 335i. However if you set delay it would start to close the sunroof shade before your mirror close. So end up I decided to set the mirror to fold immediately.

I pretty much got everything I wanted done with the coding.

I'm just wondering is it possible to add the M performance logo into the gauge cluster? I have the full digital cluster if that helps.

Got two questions guys,
Via bimmercode,

1,Anyone knows how to disable the auto steering wheel movements after shut off the engine? (Disable easy entry/exit function)?
2, How to lower the start speed for the blind spot detection? The default for that function is about 30mph, can I make it to 10 or 20?

Thanks guys....

I believe the option is available via Bimmercode. But I could be wrong I haven't played around with it long enough to confirm.

If your car has Adaptive LED and HBA, I would say glare free high beams (GFHB) and variable light distribution (VLD) should be at the top of your coding wish list.

OP have you considered getting an ENET cable ($20) and using E-SYS ($50 donationware for Launcher Pro)? It requires a bit more computer knowledge than the other options but it's much much more powerful and flexible. There are lots of people on the forums who will help you get started.

Here's how to do number 2 in bimmercode
2. Look for the ICMQL Module, then go to expert mode and look for 3000 Daten section. Select it and then search or scroll to find C_ZSW_Aktivierunggeschwindigkeit_Funktion_low, select it and change the speed.

Is VLD & GFHB available to code on Bimmercode or only available through Esys?

Looks like Tokenmaster re-released Launcher Premium for free. So it's just $20 for the cable.
