11 M vehicles... as if the brand wasn't diluted enough.

It's BS. First of all, there are minimal (if any) differences between the floor architecture of the sedan vs. the coupe, and certainly none that would interfere with the installation of an emisions related filter (which will go on the standard 340i anyway). More important is the fact that the next generation of M3/M4 are set to debut in 2019 (offering a reputed 475 bhp).

The guy making this decision is exAudi. Not surprised.

but, it's not just 11 M vehicles. There will also be 15 M-performance vehicles as well...meaning you'll be seeing lot more M badging that's not necessarily "fake."

i knew that audi guy was going to completely screw everything up.

and it is complete nonsense that they had to get rid of the carbon driveshaft because of an additional particulate filter... they simply used it as a marketing scheme when the car came out, then quietly killed it off to increase profits. i'm skeptical they needed a few millimeters of clearance in the prop tunnel for a filter. kiss my ass with that lie, bmw.

its just the end of the life cycle. the four doors go first, just like the e90 production stopped before the e92 production.

Albert Biermann was the guy who built E36~F82 (participated in E30). Real enthusiast he is. Now that he is gone, BMW is likely putting 8 speed ZFat in all future M cars that can hardly rev to 7,000 rpm over DCT rated at 9,000 rpm. Coincidence much? lol

Yeah sadness at the end of the F80. Even sad to see the DCT fade away. DCT and 6MT made for two nice choices. 6MT in the weekend car and DCT in the daily.

The carbon fiber driveshaft was supposedly killed off back in November....kinda glad I got my 9/17 build when I did. I love the DCT and it'll be a shame if the next car doesn't get it. As good as the ZF8 is....it's just not as good as a DCT, E9X or F8X.
