18" wheels fit on 17 x35i m-sport?

Thinking of doing 2 things wheel/tire related...

1a. Change the runflats to a non run flat, potentially the Conti DWS06.
1b. Buy non run flat summer tires and a set of winter wheels/tires
2. Add the spare tire kit

From what I can tell, the space saver spare kit is an 18" wheel...in doing some reading there was some info posted that 18" wheels wouldn't fit the m-sport trim/brakes? Is that true or is there a special spare kit for the m-sport in a larger wheel size?

I also found what I would call a good deal on a set of 18" wheels and tires for less than $500 total from a BMW dealer and while I think the 18" wheels would look silly, winter is short and thats a good deal for our short NC/SC winter.

Our new X5 x35i has the 469 staggered 20" wheel setup. It has the factory brakes that come from the factory. Need winter setup for like 6 or 7 weeks.

Yes 18” rims fit on a 35i msport, I have 18” winters on mine. But I just use run flats and screw the spare.

Are you in NC? I wouldn't even bother with 18 winters. Save money. DWS06 is more than enough to handle light winter. Even some Canadian winter is ok with DWS06

No Canadian winter is ok with all seasons, or northern US, I know lots of people do it but it not safe. There would be a whole lot less carnage on winter roads if people would run full winters.

Thats sort of what I was thinking but the spare kit is just about the same $ as the set of 4 winter package that inclide Michelin Lattitude Alpine tires...im debating just getting the winter set, we do go skiing in Boone 2 or 3 times a year and would just swap the set for the winters for a few weeks.

On the other hand, the run flats aren't great and moving to non runflats would save a lot of unsprung weight, the extra acceleration and mpgs would be nice too.

How bad of weather will you need to drive in? If it’s not terrible I would swap out the rfts and go with the dws06. A bit of a hassle to swap out the wheels if it’s only for 6-7weeks.

Also, make sure that set of 18s has the correct center bore and tire size for the X5.
