JB4 + BCM stack options?

Hi Guys,

I plan on tuning the M5. I tried searching for different options when it comes the stacking with the BMS JB4. I've had this on my previous car and loved it.

How many of you guys are doing this?
As in having a canned ECU flash tune and adding the JB4 / BCM to fill out the canned tuned.

Any benefit to this?
Or should I be going a totally different route?

I guess the main question : for someone that plans on staying stock for now and MAYBE doing downpipes and intakes or drop-in filters, the best tune route would be both ECU tune + JB4 (stacking) OR only a ECU flash tune?

Flash tune only if you want 650whp, for more I would do stack.

I run JB4 and bootmod3 OTS back end flash (dp's, top speed limiter removed, cold start delete). I run map 2 and she runs great (22psi). I would be better off with a full flash but I want to run more boost eventually (25 psi) so the OTS works for that too.

So the bootmod3 OTS back end flash is considered a ''canned ECU flash tune'' ?

Essentially overwriting the ECU, correct?
How's the combo with the JB4 ? Is it even worth stacking the JB4 if you already have the bootmod3 flash tune?

Yes, it is "off the shelf." The combo with BCM works better than the OTS by itself. Ive run both (JB4 ON map 0 or 4) and on map 2. Map 2 feels smoother and stronger top end.

I am looking for a safe place to log 3rd to 5th gear runs for both, but I haven't found a place! Can't do 160 mph easily around here.

Ya this thing is a highspeed missile! Can't imagine being able to log after 4th gear ...

Yes, IMO, JB4/BCM+ OTS bootnod3 is better than just the OTS. When you buy bootmod3 you can also have custom tuning done by one of the tuners on the platform or buy a burble tune or another OTS for E85, etc.

In terms of power you wont make much more by adding the Jb4 over the flash.

Jb4 will give you features like boost by gear for better traction control, more control over boost, safety failsafes, datalogging, code reading and deleting
