Used 2015-16 M4 or 2018 M4?
I currently own a 2015 535i M sport, and having it financed, Im losing around $10,000 when im going to sell it soon, so I will add that $10,000 to conplete the loan I had.
I was looking onto an BMW M5 but tbh the prices on them are really high right now, So I was rooting on towards the M4 for 1.5-2 years till M5 cools down w the prices. I dont want to lose money like how Im gonna with selling my current car, I found used 2015-2016 m4s for 55k-60k and used 2018 M4's for 75-78k. Now which one should I pick, I really like the new head and tail lights of the M4 but It wouldnt justify paying 75k for that when I can buy aftermarket and install on a 15. I dont know much about leasing I never leased a car, I also plan to modify : Tune/Downpipes and Appreance modification, so I dont know if that will be a problem w a lease So any how, Do you think the 18 will hold its resale value? Whats your guys best financial advice. P.S - Putting 10K down if finance |

Consider assuming a lease at swapalease.com or just be patient until M5 prices settle down. Be patient. Right. Good luck.

Was in the same boat as you, I was upside down in my 335 and had to dip into my down payment funds just to get rid of it. Was planning on buying but decided a lease would fit me better. You don't take a loss just to get rid of the car, which has happened to me every time I turn one in.
After looking on the forums at some lease assumptions, I ended up finding a nardo grey m3 with 2,000 miles and 21 months left. Contacted BMW financial and got approved. Picking it up sometime this week! When I was shopping around for an M3 I noticed 2017's with less than 5k miles were selling $15,000 below msrp. If you're planning on selling the m4 in a couple of years for a M5 I'd start looking at leases to assume. Good luck! |

In December was about the pull the trigger on a 2015 M4 with 15k miles on it for $57,000 Plus tax. So out the door It would have been around 62k plus a 4k warranty so that would put me around 66k All in. Financing not Leasing.
A day or 2 before I was gonna drive down and buy 2015 I got an offer for 10k off a brand new 2018 from a BMW dealership. $10k off a $73k put me down into the $63k area....With Taxes I was around $69k out the door. I put down $30k and Financed $40k. So basically the difference was roughly $3k between a used 2015 and a new 2018 M4. Obviously I went with the new 2018. Happy Shopping, hope you find an amazing deal for yourself. |
