Just wanted to give a shout-out to the team over at SV Bimmer.

They recently ran a promo for ~$2k rod bearing service with BE bearings, APR studs including fluids and oil. They have a ton of experience working on the S65, N55, N54, S54 and many other engines thanks to their combined 20yrs at BMW.

They are the currently the only place I let touch my car... Their prices are reasonable and some of the most honest people I've come across in the industry.

Pre-Track alignment / prep / maintanence & anything else you could need. They're a newer shop but both owners come from MV BMW and BMW East Bay.

They're down in Santa Clara near SJC.


** Let them know that Spencer from the forums sent you, I've had about ~10k of service done in the last month (thanks 3rd party warranty) so they might be able to hook up cheaper pricing.

What fluids and oil? You mean just the oil change, or did they also do drain and fill on coolant?

Sorry just oil change but that's still substantially cheaper than other shops that promote $2k for the bearing job (not including oil). The promo is over now but hit them up, they might still be able to offer a discount =)

I can vouch for SVB also. Great guys and super clean shop. I'm planning to do my rod bearings with them as well.

My jaw dropped when I saw how clean their facilities were. This was a while back.

They're running the special again in July. I just reserved a set of BE bearings. They have a few sets left, $2000 including oil and filter, they made me feel very comfortable over the phone. I'm excited/nervous to see what my 108k rod bearings look like!

+1. Just picked up my car this morning after getting my bearings done there. Riccardo and Dennis were awesome to work with. Great shop, will be making the trip from SF for all my future needs.
