CF leather

In my opinion the CF leather trim should have been real Carbon Fiber. Anyone agree with me? Real carbon fiber looks so much better than the fake leather carbon fiber. It looks cheap in comparison. Other car companies use real CF trim.

It's soft to the touch, which is a nice quality for something on the interior. I love the CF leather trim.

CF leather looks more luxurious. Keep the genuine CF on the exterior.

have you seen the pics of the custom made real CF trim? somebody on the forum put it with their FR interior...it didn't look that great IMO, but you can take a look to see whether you might want to go that route too.

I don't like FR interiors either so I'm sure it didn't look great. I've also seen some people go crazy with the CF and that looks horrible, when they add the surround around the climate controls is just too much CF in my opinion. It also depends on the company that made the trim, some looks nice some doesn't.

I know the CF leather is real leather, but I still think real CF looks better. Not saying CF leather is a bad choice, just saying I think real CF looks a lot nicer.

Good point. Have you had this actually happen? I don't have real CF in my car but am considering ordering one of the aftermarket kits just to replace the dash trim. I would imagine the sun hitting that spot and shinning back into your eyes is pretty rare since it's kind of a strange angle?

CF leather is nice and I like the stitching on it which brings a touch of class and sportyness to the dash. Especially since BMW does not offer a leather stitched dash so the CF is the closest way to get it.

I like the leather better. softer appearance. real carbon fiber is too shiny and really it's pointless. Not like it's a weight saving item when used on the interior.

In fact it was created to be a weight saving material not an interior trim. When it's exposed in an interior and its part of the chassis it makes sense, but to simply add it as a design feature - no.

+100. Too much glare.

CF interior is too overdone and too ricey at this point.

I'm unsure how I feel about the CF leather, like it but seems kind of weird to have embossed leather (or however they made it) looking like cf. I do think that the real stuff in the RS4 looks really nice and not overdone. I think it would be cool to have trim parts in alcantara, like the MB V-12 has their headliners in alcantara. I do find it funny ppl talking about ricey CF when the whole roof is CF. i know it lowers the center of gravity, but i doubt anyone can really tell the difference.
