New Bridgestone Potenza S007a- Anyone try?

Hello all, I noticed Bridgestone has a new extreme performance summer tire(S007a) positioned between their RE-71R and the S-04 as far as performance goes. It seems that they might offer better track/autox performance than Michelin PSS/4S but more street friendly and durable than RE-71R.

They have OEM 19 and 18 sizes available, but I am considering trying them in 265/35/19f 275/35/19r once my current PSS's wear out (no 285/35/19 offered at this time unfortunately). Has anyone tried them yet? Any feedback? My car is a DD for the most part but also plan to do a few track days per year. Could be a great "do everything" tire and they are also very affordable under $1000 per set.

Agreed, wish there was a 285/35.. They do have a 305/30 but that's a little much for oem rears

Pal in the M2 section has them. He has extensive track experience.

damn that's nice! lol I bit the bullet while back and got the re71r's 285/35 rear and pilot 4s 265/35 front... the re71 are surprisingly quiet so far with about 1k miles on them , guess i'm happy with the choice for max grip lol

Just picked up a set a couple weeks ago for my M2. On the street they are night and day above the RE71R which was super noisy. The RE71Rs were great on the track though and I'm confident that these won't perform as well there. I'll know for sure how it holds out on the track in a few weeks.

Seems like compared to michelin's, s007a's will have similar street traction(if not better) but will hold up much better on the track with the stiffer and more durable sidewall/shoulders. Cant beat the price at under $1000 for a set, even though they will wear out a bit quicker than michelin's(PSS/PS4s).

I know the re71r is a great streetable track tire but they wear out super fast. I am curious to see your update on how the s007a's perform and hold up on track. These will likely be my next tire.

Have you considered up-sizing to 275/30/20 front and 295/30/20 rear? s007a's come in this size and will work with 20in ZCP wheels.

I didn't but now that I know they fit, I'll look into it. Thanks!

Just read another thread that 275/30/20 upfront will rub on the F80 but no issues with the F82. Looks like no go.

hmm yeah it seems hit or miss. Some claim no rubbing and some claim slight rub in the fender liners at full steering lock.

I just mounted a staggered set of (f) 295/30/19 & (r) 305/30/19, had to push back a couple small spots of the front fender liner w/ my heat gun. I’ve only had a couple days on the tires commuting to work, but they do hold under full power in 2nd gear. Car is making 580whp or so w/ race alignment -3.15/-2.15 camber. Tire temps were in the 80’s...

I've been keeping an eye on these tires since its debut a few months ago. Apparently the Bridgestone S007 are OE tires for Ferrari F12 and California T, while the S007a variant is more for higher end euro cars.

Performance is supposed to be better than PSS and on par or better than Conti ECS. They're definitely high on the list for my next set of tires. Great pricing and excellent tire size selection.

When not on track, I wonder if a 255/35/20 will fit up front and work with the 285/30/20 in the rear. The rolling diameter doesn't look to be that much different but wondering if the handling will be drastically different for street/highway driving not on track.
