Red Start/Stop button in 2018 M4?

Some images it's black, some it's red... can anyone clarify this conflicting information?

Standard is Black.

Red is sold by different vendors (M3/4) does not come from factory. Only the new M5 has it from the factory. Hope that clears it for you.

I ordered the OEM one for my '15, doesn't answer your question I know but worst case scenario it's a simple 3 minute swap, takes longer if you get the chinese knock offs that's just the button. I got the whole piece to do a simple harness plug and play switch

Same here, 2018 M4 came with a black button. Of course with the red button it starts faster.

Yeah, easy swap for a $22 part. Wasn't aware of genuine vs. Chinese knock-off issues though.

Where'd you get the whole piece and how much is it and what's the part #?

I dropped off one of my cars at the dealer today and was pleasantly surprised to see an M4 with the red button from the factory.

That part # is for the entire switch housing ($100) too, the actual button can be found for $20.

It is so easy to switch the button. It's literally idiot proof. IND has a thread on how to do it in the DIY section.
