Tyre Advice
Hi everyone
Just some advice on tyres please. I have a MY18 M3 ZCP with style 666M wheels. Car currently has the original sets of tyres and I am considering going 295/30/20 on the rear. Has anybody done this? Any issues? Reason for my concern is that a friend went up to 285/35/19 (from the original 275/35/19) on his M4 and his car is now very unstable through the corners. Thanks for the assistance. |

You can find a lot of great info already posted here @ https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1453199 and https://f80.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1089535
If you need more info please feel free to ask there are a ton of very knowledge able people here. Currently I have 265/35/19 & 285/35/19 MPS4S tires and I have no issues at all; it is like its glued to the ground unless I am in very heavy rain then I get a little hydroplaning but its nothing the can't be managed. 265/35:19 & 285/30:20 PS4S on OEM 763m and no negative issues at all. Previously had 255/35 & 275/35 on 437m. Current set up is better, no question. Certainly have none of the symptoms your friend describes. While I personally would not put 295's on a 10 inch rim I know that many forum members have done that and I haven't heard any complaints.

If you go wider, go proportionally so the front to rear rolling diameter matches OEM. 265/30/20 front and 295/30/20 will fit. The sidewall will look a bit bulge or meaty if you're into that look.

My worry is that I am lowered with 15mm spacers at the rear and 12mm spacers in the front. I'm worried that the meatier tyre would rub. |

it Equivalent to running a 25 offset rim, coupled with a wider tyre leaves very little room, if you going with the New P4s they def run even wider than a PSS. |

I am running PS4S's 295 on the rear with 296 up front on 20". However I have wider rims to accommodate the extra width of the tyres.
I can confirm after a track day that there are zero stability issues, and it sticks like its on rails. I struggle to get the rear to step out now with TC all the way off. (When up to temp of course). Here are some pics of what the 295 looks like on a 11J rim with Stock offset. On the stock rim it may be rather rounded. |
