Hi,
I don't live enough up north to need a dedicated winter setup but the temperatures definitely drop below 40 in the winter. We (Nashville) don't get any real snow or ice but temperature does drop during the winter. Does anyone know what options we have for staggered all season tires now that Continental DWS are discontinued. I have 2016 F80 Comp. so my tires are 285/30/20 and 265/30/20 and would like to use stock rims. I spoke to Discount tire and they don't have the front tires in DWS06 but they do have aspect 35 so I could get the following sizes: 285/35/20 (rear) and 265 /35/20 (front) Anyone know if it's ok to get a taller tire? How does that impact the suspension, tracking or safety of the car? Thanks in advance. |

I got a 2nd set of OEM 437 M 19" rims and use DWS06 for the winter. I don't know of any all season tires that fits ZCP 666 M in stock sizes.

This will seem unresponsive to your question, however I do agree with alex: get a winter set: 19 inch if you're only doing all-season or 18 inch if you're actually doing winter tires, like Blizzak. It's going to cost you $400 a year to keep swapping tires on your 666, not to mention the potential stress of mounting and remounting a 20 inch wheel with such frequency. If you search the classified section you'll see there are used wheels both OEM and aftermarket all the time. Also, you won't have to worry about salt etching your 666.

I wish it was about cost but I'm in the south and it makes no sense to have a winter set and take up all that precious space in my garage. We might get 0.5 an inch of snow once or not get any at all. |

Trade your zcps for a set of nice aftermarket 19's and slap on all-seasons? Going 35 aspect ratio is like 4-5% taller diameter.

^^^^ this. 35 A/R on 20" will be too tall not to mention very heavy. If you're fine with AS in the summer then that would be the way to go all year, no question.

DWS06 tires have fat side walls so they look bigger than your typical Michelin MPSS tires. I have these tires in a 19” setup. Also like others have said 285/35/20 will not fit on 666M wheels without some rubbing. There’s only one set of all season tires that I know of that would fit 666M wheels. Nitto Motivo in 275/30/20 and 295/30/20. I have this exact setup. They’re not performance tires but will allow you to drive year round in your area if that’s your goal.

If it's only above-freezing cold temps you're worried about there is another option. The pilot sport 4s is obviously a summer tire but it is drivable with temps in the 40s. This morning it was 43f on the way to work and my ps4s' drove like they always do on my regular commute. I run them until the snow comes. Other tire reviews and posters have remarked on its ability to handle non-summer colder temps. I'm not real sure of Nashville weather, but if it doesn't freeze or snow then just keeping these on year round may be an option. Anything icy or snowy and clearly you're stuck.
My vote for a more realistic approach (considering how crazy climate things have gotten) would be for an extra set of wheels. It might be a nice treat to yourself as well as make for a nice mod. A good set of reasonably priced rotary forged in 18in or 19in likely can be found to match exactly the tires you want. If you sell your car or turn it in, the wheels are generally pretty easy to sell thereby recouping some money. Changing out tires twice a year will likely end up costing about the same once you factor in selling out your used wheels. Additionally wheel shopping is great fun. I haven't bought from them yet but check out: https://www.fitmentindustries.com |

I live in Knoxville TN and had this same problem last year. I put on a square set of dws06 in 285/30/20 with no issues. No rubbing with 4 passengers or at full lock in the front. Overall tire size was just slightly taller in the front and shorter in the rear

Glad they worked out for you but very surprising you had a much different experience than me. Although the offset on my wheels are very aggressive at +20. |
