Wheels/Tires for track set up

I recently got to go to a driving event (not in my M4) due to running over something on the way there and the tire going flat (and too late for a fix etc...) needless to say the event was a blast in my WRX and I wanted to take the M next.

What wheel/tire setup would be good for this?

THANKS

I run OEM 18 inch 513M wheels with OEM size tires (Michelin Pilot Super Sport)

They work great and no unusual wear in a lowered ZCP

This guide should answer most if not all of your questions... If you are looking for a dedicated track set I would recommend 18's. Either 18x10 square et25 with 275/35/18. or 18x10 front et25 and 18x11 rear et44 with 275/35/18 front and 305/35/18 rear. Apex offers great wheels for the money in all sizes.
Most are using nitto nt01 tires. If you need a more street friendly tire there are other options out there like bridgestone re71r, hankook rs4, etc.. It all depend what you are looking for.

If you are a novice, there is nothing wrong with hitting the track on your oem setup for the first few times until you become more serious about it and your skill level increases.

yeah unfortunetly my OEM wheels are "out of round" it is what it is, they are balanced enough on the car to where I don't notice so I am driving on them and then I bought a set of AG's for normal driving once they are out of the paint shop.

I have the ability to swap out wheels (looking into the stud conversion) so it's no big deal to swap over. If I can grab a set of OEM wheels for cheap I can toss them on an roll, I would be good w/ that

I like to kill 2 birds with one stone and run on both track and street friendly specs. Kind of regretting not going with a square set up though because my fronts are currently et20 on 275/35 RS4s but tires are a bit stretched.
18x10.5 et30 on 285/35 RS4s all around would've been perfect for me.

That setup, staggered, is exactly what I use, and it works great.

You will also want track pads for your brakes or the sticky tires will cause brake failure.

I agree 18x10 or 18x10.5 square with 285/35 rs4's is a killer "do everything" setup!

Appreciate you linking the fitment guide

--------------

OP, the fitment guide linked above will give you the complete picture of what fitments are ideal for your car. The most popular fitment that we offer for the F8X chassis is:

F: 18x10" ET25 - 275/35-18 (typically a direct fit, but some suspensions such as KW, Ohlins, or other conical style coilvoers may require a 5mm spacer)
R: 18x11" ET44 - 295/35-18 or 305/35-18

If you have more in depth specific questions, feel free to call or PM us directly. We're always happy to help

P.S., We do have a group buy for these wheels

-Matt
