Winter Tires for the ZCP 20's?

Just searched on Tire Rack for winter tire options to fit the Competition wheels and got nothing. Is it too early or do they not stock these ever? And before everyone jumps on me about using them for my winter setup, I already have a set wheels I run in the summer, so I'd rather not have a third set lying around. Otherwise, I would never hear the end of it from my better half, lol.

I chatted with Tire Rack today...no 20" that will fit the ZCP wheels. Of course, they can only see in what's in inventory at the moment. I'm checking with a local shop that has a lot of experience with custom or unusual sizes, they are getting back to me on Monday on my options. They said I might have to go with different sizes, which might mean stretching...yikes!

I posted this on a couple different threads:

Michelin has available today the Alpin PA4: 285/30/20 XL 99W (# 10712)

There's a new tire on the way: Aplin PA4: 265/30/20 XL 94W (# 04620)

According to Michelin customer support, the new 265 (04620) will be available in October or November.

You can actually find both of these on their website but the 265's just aren't order-able yet.

I had planned to call Michelin back this week for a status update but I forgot.

Thanks! I see the 285's listed, but not the 265's. Hopefully, they're not changing their mind!

Somebody in another thread said he fit the Alpin 4's 275/30/20 to the rear and 245/35/20 to the fronts with no problem. Tire rack won't agree however.

I'm waiting to see if the 265/30/20 comes from Michelin. If it doesn't come by mid November I'll have no choice but to purchase separate 20's or 19's that fit a recommended tire. Probably 19's.

I spoke twice with Michelin and they said the 265/30x20 won't go into production until Jan. If you hear differently let me know.

That's so strange. When I spoke to them in early September they told me they were already in production at that time. Hmmmm.

Yea...i'm not getting a good feeling about this. Is Michelin the only hope/option?

Personally, I am not going to stretch tires on these wheels if they're not really designed to do that. Such as those 275/30/20 and 245/35/20 that was mentioned in another thread.

If Michelin doesn't release this 265/30/20 I am going to most likely purchase a set of 19's. Unless I can find 20 inch wheels that are slightly wider or narrower than the 666's and will accommodate a winter tire size. I really just love the 666 wheels, and if I have to lose them I really wanna keep 20's of some kind if at all possible. But my guess is this is all leading to 19's lol.

Yea...stretch is a non-starter for me. I'd rather go meaty, lol.

Are you in the US? I just called Michelin and he told me the 265/30/20 94W is currently estimated for availability first week of November. Which is consistent with what I was told about a month ago.

This is an Alpin PA4 to match the rear tire 285/30/20 99W.

I'm holding onto hope still.......

I went down to 19" for a winter set. Obviously I had to buy wheels and TPMS sensors also but now I can just swap the sets myself in the garage whenever I want. I"m a big fan of that.

Yes, in the US (mid-atlantic). That's good news...I can wait for the first week of November and probably even a few weeks after.

Just chatted with Michelin Customer Service:

"That tire is still in the building stage with no launch date set. And we can see production for 4 weeks out and the tire is not yet in production"

Me: Ok, so it won't be in November then.

"We can only report what we see in our stock summary inquiry, you are welcome to check back with us at any time."

I'll follow up again in early November, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Thanks. This seems consistent with what they told me a few days back and she even said not before January. I spoke with Tire Rack and he said they don't even have a part number assigned yet so don't expect these anytime soon. I went ahead and ordered Pirelli Winter Sottozero 3 in 265/30 x20 (front) and 285/30 x20 (rear). FYI the 265s in this fitment just became available from Pirelli.

Ah, it's because they are mismatched speed rating. The rear is a "V" and the front is a "W"

To find them on tirerack you need to search for them individually. They are not considered an actual match due to mismatch in speed rating.
