There is a lock on the gas door. I had it get stuck on me once in my old M4.

Relock all your doors and unlock again to see.

Hey looks like nobody has said anything at all about you needing to just unlock your car.

I tried locking and unlocking the car. Not hearing the gas door unlock so it must be stuck.

There is a little rod (bottom left, about the 7 o'clock position) that protrudes and holds the gas door closed when car is locked. Check if it is stuck protruding out. Open gas tank door and arm and disarm the car to see if the rod is moving freely back and forth.

Try working on it till it does.

And this morning the gas door just unlocked and I was able to close it. Tried this twenty times yesterday. This is the second electrical gremlin I've had. First one iDrive turned on and off during a trip. Hope this isn't a pattern.

Probably just the cold weather affecting the electrical components.

Never had any issues with BMW's in cold below freezing.

But my 2017 F150 has a lot of issues in cold.

Door locks freeze
Temp sensors failing multiple times
Mirrors won't heat up.
Battery dead

Summer has its own issues.
Lol

Batteries dying in the cold is very common. Relays acting up is also a common problem during summer time.

Had that iDrive issue on my 16 M4. Dealership replaced iDrive unit.

Glad bmw has stayed true to brand carrying over electrical issues to the f8x platform.
