Seat heater warmth in my 2018 ZCP M3 seems inadequate

I’ve noticed the seat heaters on my 2018 ZCP M3 don’t seem to be nearly as warm as those on my 2015 M4 . In particular the passenger seat seems significantly less warm, even on the highest setting. Has anyone else noticed this?

Hmm, I never had non-comp pkg seats my experience has been the exact opposite.

Heaters warm up and get hot really fast.

I remember I could not stand the highest setting on my M4 , I never needed to go beyond the first setting. On current ZCP m3 I need to put on highest setting and still doesn’t seem that warm, as I said especially on passenger seat. Going to have my winter wheels and tires put on in a cpl weeks I’m going to ask them to look into it, I’ll update post after that.

Sounds odd. I have 18 zcp and on highest setting you could fry an egg on either seat. I never had an earlier F8X so have no point of reference.

I've been using my seat warmer all week in my F80 Comp pack and it suits me fine. I find the level 2 is the best for me.

Now the heated steering wheel is another issue. I wish that could get a bit warmer!

I find the lowest setting too warm for me sometimes.

I have an 18 ZCP F80....seats get HOT! I always end up going right to lowest setting, and then OFF shortly after.

I had a 15 and now an 18 with the CP seats and don't notice a difference in heat intensity. Both got very warm to the point of being uncomfortable in a very short while on level 3.

Maybe it's something you need to get checked out at the dealer.

The highest level could singe your ball hair off in both my '16 and '18 zcp.

I’ve been doing some light coding through BimmerCode and there is a section to turn up the heat levels.

Via coding, you can adjust the temperature settings for the bottom and back portions associated with the 3 settings. The driver seat can be set to be different from the passenger's.

I didn't like the bottom heater to cook my balls, so I adjusted the temperature way down.

same. uncomfortably hot. ZCP seats have less padding.

My 18 civic is too hot for my taste even on low. Same with the steering wheel. Too hot.

When it goes in for the 10K service I'll ask if they can dial it down.

I too found the seat heaters on my 2018 M3 to be not hot enough. I had a 2014 535i prior and those heated seats were hot as hell (could barely stand it).
I bought Carly OBD coding unit and re-coded the seats from 35 degrees Celsius to 45 degrees Celsius and now they're perfect for me!!!!

I've done the opposite. I've just BimmerCoded my M4 down 5C across the board as it was very tropical, even on the lowest setting.

One thing I don't get is that the heater turns onto the highest setting on the first press of the button (three lights), then each subsequent press it goes down a setting. It seems back to front, as starting at the lowest would make the most sense.

Thanks for all the input everyone - as I said my 15 m4 seats were super hot and I never needed to set beyond lowest level - when I take the car in to have winter wheels/tires changed I will tell them I want it coded to turn up the seat heat levels - they are definitely not warm enough as delivered from the factory.

BMW has done it right. At the beginning you would want it to be on full blast so it can warm up quickly, then gradually step down if needed.

You can program your desirable temp to the 3-light setting. That way you don't have to hit it multiple times.

It could just be the difference of having two giant holes with no heating element compared to the '15?
