San Diego Cruises
Are there any tried and true SD cruise routes?
Where is the "canyon" cruise I always see on every YouTube video? Is in it LA? Anything like that in the SD area? |

There are quite a few. Depends on where you live and start from. I'm a big fan of tight twisties and I got a route less traveled. Most fun roads will be east to the mountains.
Here's a route for starters go HVR (Highland Valley Rd) out to the 67 to Julian for pie then back down and up to the 76, East grade and then South grade or vice versa then to the 15 to go back home. If you can do this on a weekday it would be great. I'd stay away from this route on the weekends. That will take you half a day or more. Drive safe! |

I know the BMWCCA chapter in SD has autocross monthly and cruises every other month. When we lived in LA we would go down to San Diego just for these events.

https://www.sdbmwcca.com AutoX this Sat at Qualcomm. Very fun. I do go for a cruise occasionally but first thing in the morning on the weekends. Not many people willing to wake up that early to do that. It's worth it for the open roads. |
