What is the exhaust support bracket in the middle right for?

Hi does anyone know what do the support bracket at the bottom of the car in the middle right under the exhaust do exactly? Just a curious question cuz i had to put some spacers to make an awe exhaust fit.

Chassis brace. One option is to apply heat to the exhaust then form the exhaust to fit around the brace. - hammer
