M4 passenger seat not sliding properly

Hi, I’m a new M4 owner. The dealer I bought my car from is 500 miles away from me.

When I try to move my front passenger seat back to allow a passenger in the back, the seat turns inward and outward instead of back and forth. I have checked the tracks and can't see anything jammed. I’d appreciate any other suggestions on how to fix this issue.

Thanks, Ray

Are you using the button on the top rear of the backrest (from seat)?

Yes, I tried both the top of the seat and the side of the seat.

Found the problem
The motor holder runs the width of the seat is broken?
How that happens God knows, the motor just moves when you push the back or forward buttons
Think I will need a new seat bottom as you can't buy just the bracket
So have a temporary fix on it meantime

If you have just bought the car the supplying dealer should stand on for a repair, as you're 500 miles away they should pay for it to be fixed locally.
