New front wheel m sport and hub
Dealer rang me up for $1700
Should I replace all wheels with aftermarket like niche or mrr for $300 a pop Or just take my medicine on a new factory rim

Pricing aside, do you actually want OEM wheels?
If yes, I would try to find a used set (likely have to buy the full set) on ebay or the forums. It'll be cheaper than a single new wheel from the dealer. What wheel style do you have? For all you know, there's one floating on the forums or local craigslist as we speak. Basically are you seeing this as an opportunity to change wheels because you always wanted to change wheels? Or do you just want to minimize costs and get you rolling again? If the latter, then do what I suggested above, because buying cheap aftermarket setups is just a recipe for disaster (you'll end up compromising on the price, quality and style), because those $300 wheels are likely trash or will look terrible and you still have to buy tires. Here's an out of the box alternative: whatever happened, have you considering just making an insurance claim? You still have to buy the wheel AND tires, so it might be worth that $500 deductible.

Thank you for the well thought out post. Yea I'm pretty annoyed a factory rim and now they tell me I need a new tire(the Bridgestone runflat) is gonna cost me $1100 for just the right front to be replaced, I'm considering a set of flow formed rims from advanti vossen or mrr which for a whole set with pilot sports would be $1800 I'd rather spend $800 more and get away from factory rims and run flats strictly because they would cost less to replace when I inevitably bend another one in Houston potholes. I've looked for factory replacements for a single rim and haven't had any luck And never considered the insurance but I hate dealing with insurance and haven't had a ticket or accident in over 8 years. Kinda wanna keep it claim free cuz I get my Tacoma and bmw for $265 a month

I changed out my factory 351 19's for these: https://www.beyernwheels.com/BMW_whe...rn_aviatic.php
For tires I went with a set of Continental DWS-06 high performance all season tires. I will switch to summer tires in the spring. Here's the look: |

from what you've wrote on your insurance situation, I would just make an insurance claim. What's the point of insurance if you're scared to make your first claim in a decade? I almost guarantee you that your rate won't increase with a claim.
Alternatively, some cities/states of funds where you can make your damage claim and get reimbursed for roads that damage your car. I would work with your insurance and ask how it would work without having to claim on your insurance first. http://www.houstontx.gov/legal/fileclaim.html https://www.txdot.gov/business/resou...ge-claims.html
