Exclamation Mixing Michelin PS4 and PS4S on 428i

hello guys how u all doing ive got 428i its convertible and rear wheel drive , ive being using runflat tires since 2015 but now in my country runflat tires are super expensive and the sidewall always got punctured so ive decided to change to non run flat
i bought the front tires Michelin Pilot Sport 4s 225/40/19
and rear tires Michelin Pilot Sport4 255/35/19

its impossible to find PS4S for the rear ones and my only option and closest to front axel is the pilot sport 4 is mixing these 2 tires fine and drivable?

Garage List
Installing differen tires on the front and rear axles is not a recommended practice as it can through off the handling balance of the car. But it does not mean the car will be undriveable.

Shouldn't be an issue OP as long as both tired are in the same performance category, which they are in this case.

driveable yes, but not fine.

My father was in the car business most of my life and I used to pick cars up for him from other dealerships when I was a kid. I'd drive cars all the time with mix matched tires and always noted how awful they drove. Then I'd drive them once the dealer put 4 like tires on them and they were transformed into a different car in feel.

I didn't research enough to figure out the exact differences between the two, but this may be useful. Ideally you'd have matching tires all around, but sometime the circumstances do not allow that to happen. If you're still concerned, call up Tirerack or Michelin and ask for their opinion as well.

Personally, I'd say totally drive-able and fine (especially considering the vehicle you have). Low risk IMO.
