Trunk lift not working

Hello,

Just got a CPO 2016 M4 with 2,200 miles. Drove it home from about 2 hours away and noticed that when showing my fiancee the car, the arrows in the trunk.. Not knowing what they did, I looked it up and thought it was pretty neat. Rushing back outside to show her, I realized that nothing happens whenever I hold either of the arrows. I also noticed they do not light up either, unlike every video I've seen of someone using them.

Is this just something to bring in (I am bringing the car in on Thursday for unrelated work), or am I just being an idiot and not realizing something (ie: Does the top need to be down? I have only tried with the top up, etc). Anything I can check on my own?

Thanks, also, this is the first post I've done in the F8X forum so thanks for any help!

You should have led with the fact that you have M4 Convertible (or Cabriolet). No one with a Coupe will have any idea what you're talking about.

I had to check what's that about. According to video, top has to be down, which makes a sense since it's moving it out of the way for more access.

Learned something new! I guess I won't have to look like an idiot trying to reach something that slid to the back of my vert with the top down.

I’ve had my F83 over 3 years and haven’t used that feature yet.

This - since there is no reason for that functionality when the top is up. You just lift the partition when the top is up.

What you should see is the button light up if the top is stored in the trunk. Then similar to the video, it'd lift up the folded top so you can store items under.

Having said that, I had to get my trunk / convertible top lift mechanism replaced under warranty because it wasn't working.
