Drivetrain/Reverse General Question

So this might sounds like a stupid question but Ive been thinking about it.

Here it goes: When a vehicle equipped with a DCT spins out, say drifting or by accident and the vehicles turn 180 degrees, meaning backwards into the direction of travel. The wheels are now spinning the opposite way. What or how does it prevent damage to the drive train?

disagree for two reasons -
- OPs scenario doesn't have transmission components changing direction - car is still trying to move forward as far as it's concerned, it's just failing
- the event that caused the traction loss is (hopefully) not as jarring, so less stress on the system

so end state is similar, but the way you get there makes all the difference

i spun out of highway, slamed brakes cuz im a pansy, and ended up wrong direction car was stalled. thank god a tractor trailer didnt kill my ass
