Adaptive LEDs - are both sides supposed to pivot when you turn?
I was in my garage sitting in my 2016 M4 Convertible with the full LED headlight and noticed something weird.
Turning the steering even a little to the right, I could see the beam move to the right and a little more on the steering, I could see the extra light on the side illuminate. But turning it to the left the beam didn't move. A little more turn and the extra light illuminated on the side but the beam didn't move. Is this normal? In my 2007 335 with the bi-xenons, the beam clearly moves on both sides. Is something defective with the adaptive headlights? |

I remember noticing the same thing in my 135i a long time ago and read that it's to prevent the headlight from blinding incoming traffic. Here's a thread on the subject: https://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=589623
I haven't tested this in my M3 but I'd imagine the same principle would still hold. |

Normal as stated above. If you're waiting at an intersection the car is "smart" enough to try and not blind oncoming traffic. Beam will move towards passenger side when stationary but if turned the other way it will move to center and stop. When your car starts moving THEN the beam will continue to move in that direction. Pretty cool I think.
