M4 vs. Corvette - 0 to 150 MPH
As a bmw owner and fan i saw this video on you tube comparing the C7 corvette and the BMW M4 0-200 km. Boy those corvette fans jumped all over this one (no way C7 more horsepower etc) But as i was going to purchase an M3 in 2016 i came across the Car & Driver review. In that review it had the M3 2 seconds faster to 150mph. They weren't to generous on 0-60 though. Liking the flared fenders on the M3 The M4 tested better with Car & Driver, any reason for this. Anyone care to comment. Also couldn't resist to post this on corvette forum.

More than likely it is just test-to-test variations.
While the M4 has a theoretical advantage on paper due to its slightly lower weight, lower centre of gravity and lower drag, in the real world, the M3 and M4 are practically equivalent in terms of performance.

maybe 0-60
maybe 0-60 or even quarter mile. But 2 seconds faster to 150mph is a fact. Been tested.

Maybe I misinterpreted what the OP meant, but my response was comparing the M4 with the M3.
The C7 is even lighter, has a lower centre of gravity and less drag than the M4 does.

I agree. Before I bought my M4 I had a 2016 Z51 C7 then a 2017 Z06. I'd think less drag would start to come into play after 130 or so

Fastest lap?
I believe this post was about 0-150 not fastest lap. I had the vette and it was a truly an impressive car. No doubt quick around track, also 0-60 and quarter mile.I'm not against vette and will probably buy the new one in 2020. This was just about 0-150. I thought that was kind of impressive, not doubt had to do with high rev turbo.

They don't say anything about laps..only 0-150 times. Vette does it in 24.1 seconds. M3 comp does it in 24.6. Fastest LapAs published in "Car & Driver", Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport accelerated from 0 to 150 miles per hour in 24.1 seconds.

Impressive number for sure, but obviously a data point that's out of context and reproducible? Corvette clearly a more competent track car but honestly built with a different focus. M2, M3, M4, M5 sedans/coupes are versatile and sporty, pretty impressive jacks of all trades, but truly master of none when it comes to looking at "specific" metrics. Master of sporty car that can competently handle a turn, get the adrenaline going a bit and you can still drop the kids off at school yet still available in a stick? Same car with a ridiculously awesome DCT? Absolutely.
These cars check a lot of boxes for a lot of people obviously in different ways, myself included. Haven't had a chance to drive the 8 yet but the M5 is very fast, a bit heavy, very comfortable, B&W stereo meh for a 100K+ car (surprising for both BMW and B&W, BMW needs to let them have the car longer to properly tune rather than just pasting their names on the speakers), and tracking it is a bit annoying because you're more worried about not engaging the emergency braking system and making the ass wiggle going into a turn since it shifts brake bias rearward making you think you'll be ass end into the wall in a blink or 2...Corvette and the M3/4 won't do that to you...see plenty of random facts that are impressive about all cars. Just depends on where the compromises are and how they fit into life.

C7 clearly more fun.
The thing i missed the most about the C7 it was fun. Burnouts, Quick u turns, Drifting etc. Not exactly easy to do in M3 or M4. My Z4 35is has that same DCT transmission and its not exactly that fun. Quick shifts yes. Power breaking no. Launch control just ain't the same. Yes i drive my cars, i don't wax and look at them.

In a nutshell, this is what I always tell people when they ask what I like about my car. Like all ///Ms, they don't do anything great or superlative. They just do everything well and that's what makes them fantastic.

Exactly. My catch phrase to describe my ///Ms has always been: "they're not the best at anything, but they are the second best at everything"

The comparison was to a Corvette Grand Sport which has the aerodynamics of the Z06. While that helps for turns - it really holds back the straight line acceleration. The Z06 is also slower than comparable cars when it comes down to acceleration at higher speeds.
