How quick are the X6 4.4 turbos on the topend?
I was given tickets to take my M235 onto the local NASCAR track to make a few laps. Lots of street cars were there including a newer 445hp X6 50i with the 4.4 turbo V8 (I'm assuming it was stock). My M235 is a 6MT with a catted downpipe and no other power mods. I was behind him about 3 car lengths (to his side) when we started and I was waiting for him to punch it as we came out of a long turn. We were going around 60mph and I was in 3rd which isn't exactly ideal as the gearing in the 6MT is long and 2nd tops out around 73mph. He was obviously an 8AT. Once I heard his X6 scream from the downshift, I punched it too. He jumped out about 5 car lengths total from the start. From 60mph to through 120mph (my 3-4 shift happening at around 110mph), I could barely close a car length with much of that closing happening above 100mph. I let off at 120mph as we weren't supposed to exceed 80mph but he kept in it a while longer. When we were done, I looked for him, but he had already left.
Anyone have any idea what these things run in the 1/4 mile per the mags (not owner runs)? I can only find data for the I6 turbo and X6M models and no published data for the 50i 4.4 turbo. My guess is the weight is a hamper in the 1/4 mile, but from a roll, the thing was pretty impressive to say the least.

Some guys were getting there stock x5 50i to run low 4 sec 0-60 and 12.7 @108-109 and this is in a 5300 lb suv, I would think the x6 is lighter.

My 2010 X6 50i was a BEAST! And it was stock. I had what they called the performance package which took it to 450 HP from the standard 400. Not sure what the times were but it was a rocket ship.

It's quick.
I tell everyone to stop looking at just 0-60—look at 40-60, 60-100, etc. You only start from zero so many times, most of time you're accelerating from a rolling start or if you're passing someone you'll be doing 60-80 already.

No doubt. It's got some lungs once it's rolling.

The 50i's have been putting smiles on my face for years. Effortless and smooth acceleration. Most people don't understand the real difference between 50i and 30i, 35i until they actually drive one. There is no comparison.

I concur. It's hauls ass. The 50i has such a growl and lurches from the start. It can accelerate very nicely well through 100mph+. I never felt any shortage of power when driving it.

I did performance center delivery with my 2010 X6 50i. They put me on the track with three 3 series, I was the lead car. I'm thinking this isn't right, the 3s are so light and agile. Anyway, I tore it up and wound up up the ass of the last 3. Granted, you aren't moving at track speeds but it was impressive all the same.
