EGR Cooler Recall - UK Timelines
Any UK members had their EGR Cooler Recall work completed? My 2014 M Sport 40d finally went in for inspection today, it is affected so they've held on to the car and, of course, parts are on back order. I've been given a Hyundai Santa Fe from Enterprise as a loaner for 3 weeks initially and wonder how long this is likely to go on for. Not happy with a Santa Fe if this is going to drag on

Santa Fe didn't cut it. Nudged the dealer (no push back) and I now have a 630i with 580 miles on the clock. Not my X5, but much happier. Initial dealer offer was a new 740e, but trunk space was limited.
Service rep mentioned that their dealership had over 40 cars in awaiting the EGR cooler |

I've not had any recall mentioned to me on this even with my second year service booked in for next week. Does this just affect older models?
Mines a MY2018 or March 2017 model.

There is a window of manufacture dates which might be affected, can't recall which but do remember that it doesn't go up to current date.
Dealer said about 60% of recalled cars need rectification work, so it sounds like it might be a sub-contractor issue: whether you need s replacement depends on which sub-contractor supplied your cooler. |
