Has anyone coded the Sport mode configuration screen into iDrive?
Hey guys,
I'm wanting to code in the Sport mode configuration screen as seen below. I know certain F30s and I believe the F15 M-sport with adaptive suspension has it. The reason is to be able to adjust the steering level to the "sport" setting, but leave the rest in their "comfort" settings. I find the comfort setting of the steering to be too twitchy because of a dead spot in the center at interstate speeds. It makes it difficult to keep it in the center of the lane. I could just put it in sport mode, but I don't want it to downshift and stay in a lower gear on the interstate. So, I've found the following threads discussing it and it looks like it can be done with the Bimmercode app. In the demo I have no problem getting to the first setting in the Head unit module, but the other setting in Integrated Chassis Management (ICM) module there's no expert mode. Can anyone confirm it does give an expert mode in the ICM module before I pay for the license? https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1086229 https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...0&postcount=26 Thanks!! |

No Expert Mode for ICM Module as of now. It used to be, it was disabled during a previous app update, but the developer promised that will re-enable it in a future update.

A little update: Bimmercode requires you to update it before it'll even connect to the car, so there's no way to get expert coding with an old version. I'm tempted to try E-Sys, but afraid I'll brick something with it.

Can't you also just hold down the DSC off button for a few seconds while in comfort mode? That will give you the "Sport Oriented Chassis settings" which I think tightens up the steering a little.

No that will actually turn off DSC and DTC. Well it does in my E90, unless the F15 is different. It may tighten the steering, but I definitely don't want DSC and DTC off.

IC, Got it. I thought you just wanted the tighter steering.

Well I just figured out the genesis of the whole issue. Not sure how I didn't see this before.
https://f15.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1469160 And there's a recall. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/rcl/201...6V704-7084.pdf Mine was CPO so if there was an open recall it would have been done, and there's no open ones now. However, it's still under factory warranty so it should be fixed under that. |
