iDrive lag

About two weeks ago out of nowhere, i started to have this issue. My iDrive lags really bad when i play music from iPhone. I have iD 5 with apple car play. I don't use car play, i prefer idrive much better. So, i get in the car, start, start to drive and it takes 3-4 minutes to start to play music. It takes 2-3 min to switch between the tracks! Lag only happens with playing music from the phone. It takes about 10m min to start Pandora or Amazon music. Calling, radio, Nav no problem...
What is it?

Garage List
1. You've got ID6.
2. Have you tried to reboot the iPhone?

Not sure why speakers would creat the lag though. You mention rebooting your phone; however, did you reboot the iDrive too?

Yes, i did reboot both. Rebooting iPhone is pretty straight forward ( i did not erase it and set it up as new), however, rebooting iDrive is simply holding down the power button for 30 (ish) sec. Yes, i did it. My previous X5 had iDrive 4 where there used to be a function to completely reset iDrive removing all data and such. Cannot find it in iDrive 5.
