Picked up an (new to me) Carbon Black xDrive50i

Just picked this up from south Florida. Very nice car and my first introduction to BMW.

Sorry for the caps - I copied and pasted

2016 X5 Carbon Black (should be called Carbon Blue)
IVORY WHITE INTERIOR
M-SPORT PACKAGE
DRIVING ASSISTANCE PLUS
STOP & GO DRIVER ASSIST (not sure what this is)
EXECUTIVE PACKAGE
HEADS UP DISPLAY
CERAMIC CONTROLS
SOFT CLOSE DOORS
REAR MANUAL WINDOW SHADES
FRONT HEATED/VENTILATED SEATS

Car has 48k miles on her and the warranty will be expiring in 2k miles. Anything I should look for before those miles tick by?

First picture is after 30 minutes on the Florida turnpike
Last picture is me going through the car wash (I typically had wash wanted these bugs off right away). Didn't know how to turn off the forward/back detection noise.

Love the real wood trim.

Damn, looks like you drove through a swarm. Congrats
You can disable auto-park distance control permanently in the iDrive menu. If you just want a one time disable when it pops up, you'll see a little green light just to the left of the gear shift light up (I forget if its a camera logo or sensor logo on the button).

Congrats on the new n’used X5! That’s a nice build for sure.

The Stop & Go drivers assist is explained here. http://www.bmw.com.kh/asia/en/insigh...l_stop_go.html

It’s a great feature to have but can be annoying as well. You’ll have to see if you like it or not, if not, that sucks because I don’t believe it can be disabled.

As for the park assistance, you can turn it off manually by pressing the button to the left of the gear selector, it will have the green light illuminated when activated.

If I were you, with only 2k miles left on the warranty, take it to a local BMW dealership and have them go through it for a final check. Some things to check are; front wishbones, steering wheel column (makes noise while retracting/extending while exiting), corrosion on the wheels and the sunroof.

Welcome to the forum.

Ahh, had that on my SRT8 Jeep, they called it adaptive cruise control.

Thanks for the info about the things to check. I will definitely check them out.

He mentioned the jeans because of the transfer of dye from jeans to the ivory seats. Beware, it happens.

I am not sure which one is faster. The Jeep was harsh and direct when smashing the pedal. The X5 goes fast and gets up to 60 probably pretty close to the same time but does not feel as violent.

I believe it is really just a drivers race between the two.

Here is a pic of the SRT8

'gratz on the new ride. I also just got the exact same one minus the radar for acc/stop 'n go and I'm guessing, night vision.

Really looking forward to seeing what mods you plan on doing and taking a page from your playbook! Sure is a beautiful ride minus bugzilla!

Gratz!

Thanks. You have good taste

I am just going to do some basic mods first:

- Tint (20% sides and back, 50% windshield and sunroof)
- Ceramic coating
- Black floormats and trunk mat to contrast all the white (would of prefered black carpet)
- Trailer hitch
- V1 mount and hardwire
- Some sort of exhaust for a meatier sound

After these basics, I will start looking at what else is out there. I am not really looking for speed as I have a Hellcat for that.
