Velcro on seatbelt reciever?
Stupid Q I know;
Been bugging me since I can't figure why it's there. My E90 M3 has what looks like velcro wrapped around both the front seat seatbelt recievers. What on earth is this purpose of this? |

Not to scratch the center console.
Best regards, south

The "female end" on my A4's belts has some felt padding to keep it from rubbing the console if the seat is pulled too far forward.
Could this be similar? Last edited by schadenfreude; 08-08-2008 at 12:34 PM.. Reason: Edit: 3 answers for the price of 1. I'm just a wee bit slow! |

It's there to prevent squeaking. When the receptacle is wedged between the console and the leather seat it can make an obnoxious squeaking noise. Also when the seat position is changed. Wrapping it in the nappy fabric stuff quiets it down. A low-tech solution to a problem that used to drive me NUTS in my E46.
