Dct trans oil change

Hey guys I have a 2011 m3 with the dct transmission and after Doing my engine oil change I noticed that the transmission oil pan was wet and an Indy mechanic quoted me $800 for the job but Outside of an oil change not sure if he’s reliable anyone in the San Fernando Valley know any trusty mechanics and a guesstimate of labor cost?

There are a few gaskets that can leak. Most likely the pan gasket.

You can take this time to swap the fluid and filters.

Pan, with gasket is like $200.

Fluid is $150 at $25 a quart for 6 quarts. I think I used all 6 and reused a bit of some of my drained fluid.

Suction filter is $120 or so. Cylinder filter is ~$30.

I did mine myself, which is messy but not too difficult. Shop might charge 2-3 hours for this. Took me 2 with jacks.

This should fix it and have you good to go for another 60k. Sometimes one of the side gaskets leaks but some say it comes back very soon even if replaced.

I can’t comment about SFV but I like Star Autosport near olympic and sepulveda which isn’t too far.

Depending on your mileage the side pan is leaking, most shops will quote you gearbox removal to service it although there are a few of us on here who know how to do it without removing it.

IIRC, you might want to use ISTA+ or iCarsoft to monitor temps. while you're filling the fluid, do not let the trans temp go above 40C. just fill the DCT fluid until it drips and you're good to go.. gets you a few extra mL.

So the weird thing is I called the dealership and I give them my Vin number and they’re saying it’s a manual and with the Vin number it’s telling them I need 1.5l or something like that
I keep telling them it’s the dct trans but there system shows Manuel

Dct registers as a manual, they gotta check dcs to see if it has 2MK.
