Is There Any Pent-Up Demand?

Something I've been wondering lately, most you guys here waited a long time for your M's. As such, the initial push to purchase should be satisfied meaning the next model year interest will most likely level-off or even drop-off.
What does this mean for 2009?
I base my observation on the number of unsold M-3's.
A quick search on cars.com, 250 mile vicinity from Vegas, showed 395 unsold. Granted that number, approx. 170, are E93's but still a significant number are unsold half way through August. With NA allocations cut by 40,000 for MY 2009 what do you think will happen over the coming months?

Simply put: The sale of the M3 will follow the swings and trends of the economy.
