HD Radio Included in Tech Package for '09

When I questioned my CA yesterday about why my car was spec'd with HD radio, he told me that it's automatically included with the Tech package for '09. This is unfortunate because it will give BMW an excuse to jack up the price on the Tech package even more for an option I really don't want.

No big news really, but I thought I'd share it since BMW NA continues to hold out on us.

Why don't they give us the option for Logic 7 in the M3 in the US??

coz they wont be able to sell the "M premium" shit otherwise. im glad i got that though.

Do you have the option of the Individiual BMW Audio System in the US, I paid £1500 as an extra and I don't think it's much better than the standard spec!?

I couldn't possibly care less about HD radio. Not worth $20, let alone the outrageous $350 it is currently.

Believe it. I got my production sheet, saw the HD radio selection, and called my CA and asked him why he had put it on there. He said it is automatically selected with the Tech package, and that they couldn't take it off.

There's another annoying thing about this beyond the price inflation for unwanted options. BMW NA clearly has their '09 option packages set up already, but they can't even be bothered to share even that information with us, much less pricing.

that is such an unsatisfactory answer. i wrote them three times and every time they wrote back and said that they had nothing at this time. i wanted to raise the and tell them that i know they know, and they should be for not telling us. i don't understand their methods whatsoever.

thanks tlud. i believe you. i am going to wait to see it though in case something changes. i was just looking at that link that twistastick posted with the new interactive catalogue for the 2009 m3 that shows all the new updates with idrive, headrests, etc. the last page shows some new options selections, so that is entirely possible.

This is also similar to the Comfort Access that used to be an option but it is now included with the ZTP. That is one of the reason why I ordered the ZTP.

I believe your "Individual Audio" is our "Enhanced Premium Sound". It really is quite a bit better, but you have to crank it up to hear the difference. Logic7 would be the choce for the majority here if it were available.

should we keep our fingers crossed in the us, greg? i saw the 2009 M3 catalog and it is listed in the back as an option...but, of course, that is for the euro model.
