Is it really bad if i go over 1200 miles if...

i didnt get my service done yet..i have 1150 miles on my m3..my appointment for the 1200 service is thursday august 21st..but i really love driving my car however i dont want to damage anything..should i just leave it in the garage till thursday or should i just drive and not worry about it even if i got to the service with 1400 miles on it?..suggestions please

Wow, you are brave, I would stop where ever I was driving and have to towed by flatbed to a dealer. If you go even a couple tenths over 1200 mi it is very likely that your entire motor will either melt or explode. It depends on if you got the titanium piston return springs or the regular chromoly ones.



Just not to be a complete sarcastic jerk... It makes no difference whatsoever. Take it in at 1000, take it in at 1400. It does not matter one iota.

your car will self-destruct itself . No it is not bad. SW will tell you as long as you are + or - 200 within the range of service, you will be ok.

i tend to try to take it into service a bit earlier each time to make sure that they will cover the 50k one. otherwise i dont think it really matters much at all

These numbers are not based on sound science. Just get it in the ballpark range and you're ok. But there was a chance your car would spontaneously combust if you went over by 5 or 6 miles!
