F80 M3 owner, drove a GTS finally

Hey Guys,

Just want to give you my viewpoint of the GTS. Used prices are now at a point where you can actually own one of these beauties. I must admit a year or so ago I was skeptical of the $135k asking price, but now having finally driven a used one I understand why this group raves so much about the car.

My impressions:
-Excellent suspension setup, not that stiff and excellent rebound control
compared to a stock F80/F82
-Steering vastly improved, turn in is much more instant and responsive
-Great sounding exhaust
-Much more linear power delivery, more raw and aggressive
-Lighter feeling chassis, feels more playful and makes you want to drive
the car at its limits.
-Rear is still lively but you're not as afraid and can catch it better

Overall an excellent car, and really what a BMW M3/M4 should be from the
factory.
When I went back into my f80 and drove off from the dealer, I could immediately point out all of the 'shortcomings' of my car.

It's a shame that the GTS has a roll cage/no back seats otherwise I would have traded
in my F80 by now.

Steve

The GTS is a force to be reckoned with for sure. It's a serious piece of hardware.

It's a shame we live in a world full of idiot reviewers who can't set a 3 way suspension any better than they can rearrange atoms and it got bad reviews.

You would just possibly think that at a car review company there is actually someone who can drive and at least dial it in for the "show boy" to review it....one would think

everything is clickbait nowadays anyways. No way a tesla is beating an m3 around the track(laps) cause it will run out of power...period.

"TESLA destroys 911 gt3"....oops it ran out of electricity.

not bashing Tesla; just stating the obvious. shits gunna overheat or run out of juice.

really going to do some HPDE this summer if I find time; really want to stretch the f80 legs
