BMW 650i quad exhaust tips

Hi guys. I'd like to stay with original muffler but I'm thinking about replacing tips to quad exhaust. I have a M6 diffuser. For easy installation they should be 2,25" or 2,5" inlet size?

This is the thread with the most info I could find on this. I posted it on the 640 quad tip thread as well.

Can I ask why you don't want to switch out the exhaust? I have a used Meistershaft exhaust I could sell.
