2015 640i X-Drive Gran Coupe tire and rim issue?

I have the following staggered wheels. 275/35ZR19 & 245/40ZR19 on 19 Niche Milan's. The tires are Delinte D7.

I was having issues with car pulling at 25 to 35mph. Felt like the back was trying to keep up with the front or vise versa. I went to dealer and they said I cannot have staggered wheels and tires on an X drive. They said if it was rear wheel drive instead of all wheel drive it would be fine.

I reinstalled the original 19s and the problem went away.

The Tire Rack confirmed these are tires sizes from the factory.
and "That vehicle had a staggered option with those exact sizes on it from the factory. So if they're telling you the sizes are the problem, that's not correct"

"I don't know what is causing your issue though. It could be the tires if they're not balanced or cupping or something. But it's not because of the sizes."

I read regarding an X Drive(4 wheel drive) you can have staggered if they are less than 1% difference.

Any ideas would be wonderful! Thank you.

My Daughter’s X5 is the Sport Activity package with 315’s and 275’s on 20” wheels out of the factory. My 650 xDrive is also staggered out of the factory. Outer diameter of tire is the critical element, not the width.
Go to a good indy for service etc... they are car guys.
Dealer service is woeful.

Tire sizes on the 640i/ix/650i/ix are the same and are also listed in the physical owners manual. If the car is optioned with staggered wheels...then staggered tires are used. If the car came with a square set-up...the tires for front & rear will be the same size listed as for the front:
  • 245/35/20 (f) & 275/30/20 (r)
  • 245/40/19 (f) & 275/35/19 (r)
  • 245/45/18 (f) & 275/40/18 (r)
