Mileage for optimum performance!

Does anyone know when I'm likely to the optimum performance in my E92 M3, is it going to be a 3,100 miles when the engines run in? Some people tell me it isn't at it's best until it reaches 10,000 miles???

Depends on the break in.. but I would guess after the first few thousand miles.
