Tried out launch control, flawless

Absolutely amazing how much better this system is than it was on the E46 SMG. Very easy to use, came to a stop, dsc off, S6. The race flag comes up very quickly and put my pedal to the floor, car got to revs, released and wow, couldn't believe how it it hooked up.

No drama, no fuss, just modulated the clutch, hooked up and went. I did not hit the rev limiter but I can see how if on a surface with less than ideal traction it will hit.

My only issue with it would be adjusting the revs is not as easy as I thought. I had the best luck clicking the cruise control stalk backwards or forward to get the revs to move. However, it does not seem to remember position. So if you want to lower launch revs, once you engage the system again it does not remember that position and resets to default. A bit of a pain when trying to adjust for conditions.

Other than that, amazing system, and wow are the shifts in S6 hard!

It's an awesome experience

I tried the LC recently, and it's breathtaking. I didn't push it real hard because I didn't know what to expect but it was still quite an experience. Everyone should try it, just make sure the first few times that you have clear road ahead of you because this car really takes off...

I am sorry to bring this old thread up but tonight is the 4th time I am trying LC on my Car in the past week or so.

I manage to bring the flag up with DSC off and S6 mode cranked up. With the lever pushed forward, I press the gas pedal all the way down and the car revs to 5,500rpm... I release the lever and the car spins like a mad man, the car skids to the left and to the right and I actually have to counter steer. I try my best to hold my foot on the pedal but I might not have pushed it all the way down because I was scared shitless. Rev limiter reached, power cuts in and I am still in 1st gear...

This is very frustrating.. considering this is the 4th time i am trying it.. once a night in the last week or so.

Hellppp please!!

Does this automatically then turn off dsc? What has been the most successful rpm level launch for any of you?

Was it snowing when you tried it? I heard the NEast got a bit of snow yesterday.

I don't understand why your car starts spinning from a complete stop. It should go forward. I've done LC numerous times and it works. DSC off, S6, lever up, rev (foot all the way down**), put your head back, release lever.

no, it wasnt snowing. 200 miles north of philly got some snow though.
The car does move forward, don't get me wrong... but as it movies forward the car skids to the left and right because of the wheel spin.

Otherwise.. I'll probably try this again this weekend when it's nice and sunny... and when the tire gets some temperature
