Replacing thermostat and sensor - question...
Was reading through the DIY thread on replacing the thermostat and sensor and seemed straight forward except for one aspect.
A popular approach to the project was to pump all of the coolant from the reservoir before replacing the thermostat to prevent a mess when pulling the t-stat housing. Should I plan on reusing that coolant and adding it back post install? Or buying more then came in the kit. I know it's kinda a dumb question but I bought the ecs kit for the job and it only came with a quart of coolant. Not nearly enough to replace the amount people were saying they pumped from the reservoir. Any help on the right way to approach this would be appreciated. Was gonna start the job tonight and opened the ECS box and realized I may need more coolant. |

Is it true that the coolant doesn't need to be flushed assuming it doesn't get contaminated? Last edited by MikeyDawg; 01-10-2020 at 08:41 PM.. |
